Archival found footage and the Arts
A screening and talk with visiting artist Salvi Vivancos
Date: Wednesday, July 24, 7:00pm
Location: AgX Film Collective, 144 Moody St, Building 18, 2nd FL, Waltham, MA 02453, USA
In this talk, visiting Spain-based filmmaker Salvi Vivancos will discuss his process of artistic creation in relation to home movies and small gauge film. An uncertain position between art and audiovisual preservation has led him to develop archival projects as points of access to memory.
Salvi will share the keys of his own personal work, the local recovery project Memorias Celuloides, the online archive La Red del Cine Doméstico (Home Movie Network) recently launched in Spain and the international collaborations with Home Movie Day and APEX MIAP-NYU.
Free and open to the public, with a suggested $5 donation to support the artist.
